When Friendship and Religion intersect

Doing business or being friends with people of all different backgrounds is one of the freedoms we as Americans enjoy.  Learning from each other whether sitting by someone different in the classroom or workplace gives us invaluable insight on how others practice their heritage and traditions. Surrounding ourselves with various cultures helps make our lives richer.

Are you worth what your paid?

At the inception of my new career, someone asked me what I charged? I had no idea what to answer. I thought of what I was paid doing similar work for employers I had worked for, always feeling I should be paid more. So why did I quote the hourly wage I had been making when I was never satisfied?

What I’ve learned in my 50 Years

As my impending birthday is rounding the last corner, I can’t help but reflect back on what lessons I have learned during my time on earth:

Life is really better if you live by the “Golden Rule”. 

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.  Whether you call it Karma or by another name, life is always better if you follow this simple lesson that most of us learned in preschool.

Which platform do you use? According to the youth, Apple is their pick.  Kids insist on the Mac.  One of their selling points to us is that they don’t get viruses.  At the time, Apple’s marketing was in high gear.  Savvy, smooth and elegant, these machines, phones, and tablets made you salivate.
